DO I NEED TO SEE MY DOCTOR FIRST?

California allows "direct access" to physical therapy services or "self-referral." This allows patients to be evaluated and treated by a licensed physical therapist without first seeing a physician for a prescription. Direct access saves you time and money, expediting your treatment, relief, and recovery. You can receive services from a physical therapist without obtaining a doctor's prescription for 45 days or 12 visits, whichever occurs first. After that time, a valid doctor's prescription is needed for the continuation of physical therapy services.

Some insurances still require a prescription from an MD for coverage. Confirm with your insurance carrier when checking your PT benefits. “Is a prescription from an MD required?”

The therapists at Beretta PT value the teamwork approach to healthcare and will communicate our findings and treatment plan with your doctor and other practitioners. It's our feeling that members of a patient's healthcare team work together toward that patient's goal.

AM I COVERED?

Beretta Physical Therapy is "In-network" for Medicare and HealthNet PPO Plans. We are out-of-network for all other insurance companies. We can still work with you!

**All Supplemental Plans being used with Medicare are accepted with Kaiser being the exception.

We work with MANY patients who are “out-of-network.” Many patients come to us from other PT clinics for a second opinion and an optional treatment approach. Most of our clients are very motivated and wish to be active participants in their care. Our goal is to be as efficient as possible with your care, number of visits and time spent in physical therapy. You have better things to do! It’s our goal to resolve your condition as quickly as possible. Please call for more information. We’re happy to answer any questions. 916-941-2440.

WHAT IF YOU DON'T TAKE MY INSURANCE?

This is a common situation. We have what's called "out-of-pocket" rates for such situations. Healthcare dollars are becoming more and more valuable every day. Your sessions will be with the same physical therapist each and every session. The initial evaluation session is 1 hour in length, but frequently following visits are less and fees are adjusted appropriately. Often, clients use their HSAs (Health Savings Accounts) and Flexible Spending Accounts. Payment is expected at the time of treatment. Beretta Physical Therapy can easily provide a statement at any time. Please call for more information. We’re happy to answer any questions. (916) 941-2440.
